Review Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter Director: Kim Yun-Cheol Yi Hyun is a professor from Seoul. Along with his assistant, Geum, they get lost in the countryside and they discover a coffee house run by an old lady.
In reality, that old lady in question is Ok Nam, a fairy who had her clothes stolen while bathing, by a woodcutter, whom she married, as. without her clothes.
she couldn’t return back to heaven. However, the woodcutter died and she and her children waited for him to reincarnate and come back to her. 699 years now, Ok Nam meets the two men and she feels that one of them is her husband.
However, she does not know which one. So, she and her daughter follow them to Seoul to help her lover gain his memory back and reveal his true identity to her.
So, the story wasn’t that bad at first. It was just boring. And the SGI were bad, but not plenty. Also, the whole mythology of the drama and background story was confusing and not properly explained. Halfway through the drama, you come to realize that it is just plain boring. The events that happen have no specific reason for them to happen and they just keep repeating one another. The love triangle isn’t that interesting and the story lacks the entertainment element. Finally, the ending and the conclusion of the story were unexpected (I’ll give them that) but it left me wondering “what the duck just happened?”.
So, if I could point out some positive elements of this drama are these:
-the final couple had some chemistry
-the final twist was unexpected
-they liked to add song lyrics by BTS in the script (which they didn’t really make any sense or added anything to the plot)
